Kiddleydivey have been delivering their upbeat, lively, therapeutic music sessions to residential homes, day centres, hospitals and specialist units in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Hertfordshire for over 19 years.
We currently work in over 55 homes in the area and were thrilled to have come second in the Care Home Idol competition in 2014. This is a national competition involving hundreds of care home activity companies and individuals from all over Great Britain.
The song tracks we use have all been chosen for their popularity with our particular client group and for their therapeutic content. We choose to use mostly up-beat songs with lively rhythms, popular classical pieces and music from many different eras and genres.
Each and every song or music track has been specially adapted for use in each individual setting, with tempos sometimes altered, keys changed to make group singing easier, and unknown versed to songs taken out.
As we also work with younger clients we have popular songs and music from the 60's 70's 80's and 90's as well.
We have a large variety of props that we use to encourage movement. From hoops to feathers, ribbons and bass drums, bubbles and hats, we can be sure to entice everyone to participate.
We are constantly updating and researching new therapeutic methods, songs, music and equipment to add to our music sessions, so our regular clients really benefit from and enjoy the content and structure of the sessions. We also add special sessions for important occasions such as the Queen's birthday celebrations and the Olympics.
We recently put together a session for a 'beach party' with a large group of over 50 elderly people who live in the community and came to party together at the Old Windsor Day Centre.
Our sessions are always lively, full of fun and laughter but most importantly, the musical content is presented in such a way as to really stimulate memories in the elderly and encourage movement, socialisation and interaction.
The most important thing we offer in each and every Kiddleydivey session, is interaction! We interact with every person in our groups by either singing with them, holding their hands, getting them up to dance or simply swaying in time to the music. Nobody is ever left out and we strive to make every one feel included and special.
