My name is Angela and I am delighted to be bringing Kiddleydivey music sessions to this area from September 2016.
I studied music at the Department of Music Studies on Durrell’s beloved island of Corfu with further accordion studies at the Richard-Strauss Conservatory in Munich. My interest in music and particularly in popular songs connected with a meaningful memory brought Kiddleydivey into my life about three years ago. Through our therapeutic music sessions I feel that we are progressing on some kind of journey to become something more than what we already are. We have fun, interact, communicate and, when the music eventually reaches its highest peak, we come out of it feeling life is worthwhile.
Music and songs that elderly people are familiar with act as a beacon to awaken memories and emotions. When dementia or Alzheimer’s disease patients who although may not be able to activate their short-term memory can still remember all the words to their favourite songs, this meaningful quote by Louis Bunuel comes to my mind again and again […] “memory is what makes our lives. Life without memory is no life at all. Our memory is our coherence, our reason, our feeling even our action”.

Angela's session was a completely different experience we had ever had at our Care Home. It brought big smiles from the residents, movement, and lots of fun and energy, so much so, we didn’t want her to stop! Angela has an influential presence to the residents, you can’t help but want to clap your hands, jingle the bells, bang that tambourine, raise your hands in the air, and sing along! The residents absolutely loved every minute of her performance. I would recommend Angela from Kiddleydivey to everyone, once they experience Kiddleydivey they will never want her to finish!
Michelle Lynn – Shore House
Shore clients have being showing their musical prowess again, after Angela gave us a free taster session last week. The interactive music groups that she runs, had our clients up and dancing, singing, playing the tambourines and jamming with Angela as she played the accordion. Clients responded so well to fresh, enthusiastic approach that we have booked four more music sessions with her, for very reasonable rates. We cannot recommend her highly enough!
I would like to thank all the Care Home Managers and Activities Co-ordinators who have given me the opportunity to show them how beneficial our interactive music sessions can be to the residents’ well-being.
